The present day
Virginia Tech basketball is still going strong in the 21st century. In 2017, the men’s team made it to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA tournament, and the women’s team won their first ever ACC regular-season title. Since then, the men’s team has made multiple trips to the NCAA tournament, including a run to the Elite Eight in 2019. The women’s team has been equally successful, winning an NCAA Tournament game for the first time in 2018 and claiming an ACC regular-season title again in 2020.
